MEDICAL RADIATION TECHNOLOGIST (X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST)

Number of hours: 30+

 

Description: The position of Medical Radiation Technologist is responsible for all X-ray examinations as requested by the referring physician to produce high quality studies for interpretation.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) in good standing

  • Current BCLS certificate

  • Experience with Velox RIS and PACS preferred

  • A minimum of 3 years of X-ray experience in Canada is preferred

  • Sound knowledge of general radiography and special procedures as required

  • Sound knowledge of radiation protection and the safe efficient operation of the X-ray equipment

  • Sound knowledge of computer and DR

  • Ability to provide superior patient care and consciousness of the patient’s safety and welfare

  • Professional demeanor and superior organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and to complete the work efficiently in the allotted time

  • Strong interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills (Excellent communication skills in English. Ability to communicate in additional language(s) preferred)

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

  • Evidence of ongoing continuing education

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and excellent attendance
